Mentoring
Encouraging students who have not previously had access to STEAM learning to explore technology-driven careers is essential in today’s evolving workforce. Strong TIES equips learners with knowledge, skill-building, representation, and global exposure through year-round mentoring programs designed to connect education with real-world opportunities.
Our mentoring programs provide participants with guidance, hands-on learning, and exposure to emerging technology fields, helping them build confidence and develop pathways into careers in science, technology, engineering, the arts, and math.
STEAM Activation & AI Literacy
STEAM Activation connects educator training, student labs, and AI literacy to real workforce needs in Arizona’s technology-driven industries. The program focuses on students and educators who have not previously had access to high-quality STEAM and AI learning, linking their experiences to careers in logistics, manufacturing, automation, and energy.
Design Thinking Professional Development (Educators)
We provide professional development for educators in design thinking, systems thinking, and AI literacy, enabling them to design and sustain STEAM learning environments that reflect real industry needs and prepare students for emerging technology careers.
STEAM Activation Labs (Students)
Our student labs offer hands-on experiences in coding, artificial intelligence, data, and automation. These labs give learners direct exposure to real-world applications and help them understand how their skills connect to careers in Arizona’s key industries.
AI Literacy Strand
AI literacy is integrated across all programs as a foundational element. Learners and educators develop a practical understanding of artificial intelligence, including safe and ethical use, while building the skills needed to participate in emerging technology fields.
Workforce Development in Arizona
Strong TIES connects STEAM, AI literacy, and design thinking and systems thinking to real workforce needs in Arizona’s rapidly changing economy. We focus on students and educators who have not previously had access to this kind of learning and prepare them for careers that use AI, data, and automation every day.
Our programs introduce learners to how emerging technologies are transforming sectors such as logistics and supply chain, advanced manufacturing and automation, energy and infrastructure, and related industries across Arizona. By aligning classroom projects and labs with real production environments—including warehouses, factories, and energy systems—we help learners see clear, practical pathways from STEAM and AI learning into quality jobs and careers.
Educators gain professional development in design thinking, systems thinking, and AI literacy, while students participate in labs and projects that reflect the tools and challenges used in Arizona’s semiconductor, electric vehicle, aerospace, and clean energy sectors.
