STEAM In The Game is a STEAM Game and Virtual World Design Camp. The aim is to introduce and engage learners―all genders, ages 13-18—to explore creative technologies and career opportunities in a sub-field of STEAM, 2D and 3D computer interactive game design and development. Our approach is simple; attract (Gaming + Coding), awareness (Inspirational Speakers), engage (STEAM concepts and challenges). This educational program uses the tool of Games as an entry point for learning computer science, physics, visual effects, science, and production using the state of the art game engine, which is a free open source game platform.

Game Design & Theory

Does a certain player always have an advantage, no matter the behavior of the other players? Or is the game always balanced, as long as the players involved make intelligent decisions most of the time? This Session will draw from the fields of Mathematics and Computer Science to understand the decision making science for not just humans, but computers, too.

XR Production

Interested in learning how Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and Mixed Reality (MR) content is created from inception to delivery and how the 360 environment, immersive and interactive content are integrated with narrative story development and design. Throughout the session, leading our expert coach will cover all stages of the process.

Computer Science

In this session, students will create a VR simulated environment for exploring computer science concepts in the same way they interact with the real world. We will make the concepts visual, tangible, and responsive, which makes it easier for learners to develop transferable skills in high demand 21st century disciplines and careers.

VR & AR Platforms

Enterprise applications for immersive technologies are growing rapidly and on the cusp of mass adoption. Virtual, mixed, and augmented reality (known as VR, MR, and AR, respectively) are together expected to become a $108 billion industry by 2021. Throughout the program, students will be exposed and guided toward building for immersive platforms.

The course was really good today, they went through the basics of coding like variables, for loops and while loops etc and the person made a game in unity with some errors and we have to fix those errors.  ~Jessie from Orlando

I just wanted to say thank you for letting me join the program and letting me do the tournament because I was actually bored in my house before this but now thanks to you I’m trying to make my own game one day and etc.
